Overview

High-definition 3D CG assets generated with the XYN Spatial capture solution can be seamlessly integrated into virtual production, in-camera VFX (ICVFX), and XR production workflows when combined with Aximmetry.
This page introduces two methods for using XYN content in an Aximmetry environment, along with the connection procedures and plugin settings for each.

What is Aximmetry?

Aximmetry is a production platform for real-time compositing and rendering in virtual production and broadcast, built around its own native render engine. It also works alongside Unreal Engine: Unreal renders the scene while Aximmetry handles keying, compositing, and live overlays. It gives production teams the flexibility to create visuals on set while keeping the system stable and reliable throughout live operation.

Using in Combination with Aximmetry

    • 2024.3.0-2025.1.0 (using UE5.4.3) (Only in Live Sync mode. Editor Data mode did not yet exist.)

Connection Methods

There are two methods for using XYN content with Aximmetry, depending on the desired video quality and workflow.

  • Native Renderer:Prioritize ease of use and work within standard features
  • Sony XYN Spatial Renderer Plugin:Maximize image quality and the fidelity of spatial capture data

Using with Native Renderer

This is a simple and easy-to-use connection method that uses Aximmetry's standard rendering engine.

Using with Sony XYN Spatial Renderer Plugin

This is a high-end connection method that integrates XYN's proprietary rendering technology (XYN Spatial Renderer Plugin) as an external renderer within Aximmetry, maximizing the quality of spatial capture data.
[Overview of the Connection] By sending tracking data from Aximmetry and returning video from the XYN Spatial Renderer Plugin back to Aximmetry, high-quality spatial capture data can be reflected in real-time composite video.
